How to Start
Beginning your dream…
The importance of a good design
Whether you are working on a residential or commercial project, cabinetry and countertops can be a big investment. The best way to ensure your project goes smoothly is to have a good plan.
If this is a new project, you are working from a blank slate. However, if you are working in an existing space, there are many things to consider: doors, windows, outlets, ceiling heights, floors out of level, and the location of the plumbing and gas lines to name a few. Existing spaces sometimes limit your projects design so an initial job walk through is essential to evaluate the space and all job site conditions.
All of our projects are visited at the initial consultation to measure your project for a comprehensive design and to guarantee the products fit accurately in the end. A design is then prepared for you based on these considerations, discussions with yourself, and preliminary decisions you make regarding the look you want and the functions you require.
In creating a design for your project, it is important to give your designer as accurate a budget as possible. Kitchens (and other rooms) can be designed to fit into any budget. You can do a kitchen in the same space for $10,000 or for $70,000. Your budget will be a consideration when designing your project.
Selecting your Products
When it comes to product selections, there are more products available than there is time to research them all. Count on the professionals you work with to guide you. They have worked with many products and will be able to guide you in your selections.
Cabinetry is the single largest item in your project that reflects the style and quality of your home or business. All of our cabinets are custom made for your project and you can be assured they will fit your requirements.
Countertops are one of the more functional products you will select, yet are also very visible so they will need to wear well yet look great. There are many options available.
Appliances will influence the layout and design of your project. Many built-in and higher end appliances require specific cabinet configurations, such as exhaust fans with built-in hoods and built-in refrigerators. We will need to know which appliances you are using and will require specifications for each appliance.
Floor and window coverings, interior doors and trim, paint colors, and many other items also will have to be considered and selected to complete your project, and need to be considered as a group when making any decisions. We will work with you in this process to make sure it works.
Installation
Installation of your project is key to it looking great and being completed on time and within budget. Having spent a great deal of money on products, you want to make sure they are installed properly. Having a professional, experienced installer can make the difference. CCi / The Cabinet Company provides licensed, insured, and qualified installers on your project. |
